I have a 2004 dbl cab 4x4. I would like to lift it a few inches so I can fit atleast 32's under it. Price is not really an issue I just want whatever has the best ride quality and is close to factory feeling as possible. I do very little off-roading usually just during hunting season so I do not need anything very aggressive. I appreciate any suggestions. Wonderful site by the way. Just found it last week.

I recently bought some SAW racerunner coilovers and the difference from stock was huge, then I drove Wgasa (chris') truck friday night for a beer run.. holy shit the difference from stock->SAWs, is the same difference from SAWs-> Donahoes.

Definitely the best ride.. on road they were amazing, cant even feel the speed bumps, handles very well.

Off road Ive ridden in another local guy's truck (yotaracer), and the difference was felt there alot as well.

A friend of mine just fit 32x1150 bfg muds w/ just coilovers to 2" up front and the pinch weld mod, no rub.

I always heard donahoe's were "the best", I thought it was all talk til I personally drove a truck with them.

www.toyteclifts.com (This is a spacer style lift from a GREAT company.)

or

Old Man Emu system try www.wheelersoffroad.com (I personally had this "system" on my 04 D-Cab and it rode very smooth and performed much better off road than stock)

Both are much less exspensive than adjustable coilovers, and if you are only using it off road occasionally, the "bling" donahoes would be a waste for you as you would never be using them to their potential anyway. IMO

well on the cheaper side i just got a 3" cornfed lift, it was pretty easy to install but it is pretty stiff. Recomend you dont use the Pro Comp shocks you get with it and to get longer shocks for the front. Other than that its a great way to go. or check out the Demello site, budget wheeler is a good one, too. Thats if you dont want to go all out with a professional setup and throw out over 1,000 bones.

$25.00

it came out to $340

You need the longer brake line the stock is too short, and you will need to do the pinch weld mod also. The tires rub alittle when your turn, and when the shock compresses

I put the lift on my self and took me 6hrs to do it. I had a lift and shop tools though. Its REAL EASY to put the lift on.
After putting on the kit the ride got a little stiffer, but it's a truck. You want comfort stay in a car.

Price not being an issue:

Donahoe coilovers for the front = $950
Bilstein 5150 shocks in the rear = $200
Deaver 3 leaf AAL = $150
Downey HD shackle = $100

This set-up should net you 2.5-3 inches of suspension lift and still maintain a ride feel very close to stock.

Take a look at the "All-Pro" set up. Here is a link to a write-up about their suspension. I've read good things (here on this board) about this system.

There is a link to All-Pro's website at the bottom of the article.

Good luck!!

265/75/16 is 31.6" commonly referred to as a 32"
265/70/16 is 30.6"

Going up 1" in tire size nets you a half inch in ground clearance.
