My 3.4 runs fine just putting around.
It's getting OK mileage and I have no complaints.
But mash it to the floor, and it's boring. No serious power.
And it does something a little weird.
It pulls pretty good through first gear, but when it catches second you can feel the power drop off. It's noticeably weaker in second and the other gears.
"That's weird" I'm thinking. It's like the timing is backing off.
So, I buy myself a Snapon Microscan too so I can look at the data.
Sure enough... just driving around I see 22 and 24 degrees of advance. That seems pretty normal to me.
When I pin the throttle to the floor, I see 10 degrees of advance.
I was expecting more like 30.
Anybody see this before?
I'm wondering if the knock sensor is shutting it down, or what. I haven't figured out how to show the knock sensor on the scanner yet.
I'm still dicking with this, but I'm open for any suggestions.
